Dev Diary - Dungeon Sandwich Pitch!

Updated: Jun 20, 2018

For the past several months I've had a few concepts for game ideas in mind. Dungeon Sandwich initially developed into a vague idea when I was helping fellow Australian Developer, Jared Hahn, with one of his games, Bloody Dice (Working Title), back in November.

He was creating an RPG where each of the character classes was non-combat related. Chefs, Shepherds, or Midwives were forced into action as the game's heroes. While his game focused on turn-based dungeon crawling combat, I fell in love with the idea of a medieval cook trying to keep his shop open. After playing several restaurant sims, the idea for Dungeon Sandwich was left to fester in the back of my mind for several months.

Enter Kongregate Launchpad! Kongregate is looking for talented, small teams, indies and hobbyists to help bring their amazing new ideas to life through the Launchpad program. Kongregate will release and promote Launchpad games on Kongregate.com and potentially on iOS and Android.

Richard Hill and I got in contact with someone on the Launchpad team and pitched about two dozen game ideas. Kongregate was quite interested in Dungeon Sandwich out of the lot and requested a formal pitch document.

Negotiations continue, but I'll update as things move forward!
